AES 19: If the stars could speak

They say that, at some point, you just learn to let go. I must disagree. If it just takes one moment to let go, then you never really held on tightly enough. To a dream, to a place, to a person, to anything. I believe that you could let go little by little. You let go a little, then hold back on, but with a little less force until you fully release yourself. And the tighter you hold on, the more force you let go with. The weaker you feel, the stronger you'll become. So don't be ashamed of your weaknesses. We all have them. You must learn to be kind to yourself. Differentiate between your self-worth and your actions. To say that you're bad is different than saying you made a mistake. You can't fix yourself, but you can fix a mistake. We all make mistakes, we all have flaws and we all fall down.

I hope you learn how to let go of the comparison you hold so closely to your chest. You are a real human being who is living and breathing in this world, who is healing through seasons of beauty and seasons of change each and every single day. Missing someone doesn't make you weak. Everyone has a special someone that is kept in a special place in our hearts. When you're in a situation where you can't think of the way out, you tend to miss this person. This person helps me go through all of my problems, makes me happy when I'm at my lowest, and comforts me whenever I need a good cry. I may be tired, but I will never be tired of thinking about this person. I still can't accept the fact that you're far far away from me. I can't physically talk to you like I used to.

This month has been really hard for me, because it's close to the day you left me for good. If I could turn back time, I would spend more time with you than I usually do, knowing that you left me that fast. Thinking of you always makes me tear up a little, you've been a part of my childhood and it's still hard to see that you're not here. I hope you're doing good, I hope you're happy, I hope you can see what I have been achieving because of you.

The magic isn't in the big moments, the big events, the big achievements. The true magic that I learned from you is in the mundane. In the little moments. The morning hug, the sunrise. Looking out the window and the warm sun on your face. The home cooked meal that's always made with love, the chatting before bed. When you look back on your life, it's these little moments that you'll be replaying in your memories and longing for more of.

AES 50: Why UNPAR?

Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary-General, once said, "To live is to choose. But to choose well, you must know who you are and what you stand for." He embodies many things that I deeply admire: unwavering commitment to peace, justice, and ethical diplomacy. He showed that leadership is not just about…

AES 47: 7 minutes

They say that after death, the human brain lives for seven minutes. Seven minutes where time bends and stretches, just enough time to replay our best memories. The moments that made us feel most alive. The laughs, the hugs, the late-night talks, the quiet peace of being with someone who just gets y…
