AES37 communication

I think communication is important, to socialize and even just for asking something. But I know my communication skill are not fluent, and I’m not a communicative person. Therefore I'm looking for ways so that I can communicate actively and well, then I found Youtube content from '' Satu Persen Indonesian Life school '' which discusses 4 Communication Skills that Must Be Learned ( Effective and Assertive Ways of Communication ) .

1. Listening skills

Focus and 100% present for the person you are talking to. There are various ways, one of which is not interrupting the person who is explaining, repeat words to confirm to be considered paying attention to what is being said.

1. Non-verbal skills

Non-verbal skills or body language, such as tone of voice, posture, eye contact, or expression. This non-verbal communication is used to explain the message you want to but it is difficult, one of them is to avoid miscommunication.

That’s why I’m always difficult to make online friends. For friends who have met before, online communication can run smoothly. But if have never met and then directly chat via message, it will be difficult for me.

1. Control emotions

There will be a time when you and the other person feel negative emotions, so it's hard to communicate. Therefore, in order to communicate well, managing emotions is one of the important skills in communication.

1. Assertive communication

The ability to clearly convey what you want and still respect others. Well the way to get assertive communication is to use the previous three points.

 

So actually my weakness in communication is, communication in online ways. Because I cant see the emotion and body language of other interlocutor.
