AES 16: Sumba, Finally
Finally, we arrived at Sumba.
I personally still couldn't believe that we're finally stepping on a land which we call Sumba, like any of my classmate would think. But then, I thought all of the effort and hardwork I did for us to even be here, and it just made sense: That this is the fruition of all of that. Although, this is half-wrong, because there's still so much for me to go through, and paperworks were just the start; it was only the theory.
One thing we noticed upon landing, is that they weren't joking with the heat of Sumba: It is extremely HOT down here, well, compared to Bandung. Not long after we got our luggage back, we're immediately greeted with one of the facilitators in LC: His name is Kak Yustin. Kak Yustin met us at the entrance of the airport's gate, and helped us with our luggage; we're going to ride one of the Mobil Klik-klik available in LC. The car is a silver Gran Max with no feature that stood out. After we left the airport, we're greeted with the main city of Sumba Barat Daya, "Tambolaka." I don't know what I was expecting, but I sure didn't expect it to be as barren as what I saw that day: The closest thing I can compare it with is Garut, but even Garut or any other small town in West Java isn't as barren as Tambolaka. The atmosphere is very close to that of Mexican or typical SEA countryside area.
We bought some meals from the nearest Padang restaurant, and other supplies in the nearest minimarket: Another surprise is that the minimarket isn't Alfamart or Indomart, but rather "Winmart." You'll see many other variations, but the most prominent ones are "Winmart" and "Paxmart."
We're immediately being taken to LC, and there... we're so grateful of how the facility is more than enough to accomodate us all: An A/C, comfortable room more than enough for four of us, a dispenser, a table, and a storage cupboard. We didn't do much this day, didn't even go outside of our room to meet the children. I was also dying for a shower, because I could already feel that I my skin was all itchy and greasy, and there was already a new acne that grew on my back.
Perhaps that is it for the day we arrived.

I'm writing this as I'm on my way to school in my automobile, and I gotta say, I feel ashamed. It's the worst kind of shame.
