AES36 In the night garden
Yesterday I couldn’t sleep, I lay down on my bed for like 45 minutes and I just can’t sleep. I tried listening to some music but it didn’t work, I was still wide awake. So I went up and I got a glass of water from the kitchen. I sat down at the table and I saw the tv, so I turned the tv on. I was just skipping through the channels and I stopped at CBeebies. In the night garden was playing, FYI in the night garden was my favorite thing when I was like 6.
If you don’t know what is in the night garden, it’s a British tv kids series. In the Night Garden is about a magical picture-book place that exists between waking and sleeping in a child's imagination. Inhabited by a diverse community of loveable characters that care for each other unconditionally, such as Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, and Makka Pakka.
People have mixed opinions about this show, but I personally love it. Some people say it’s creepy because they think Igglepiggle is like dying while he’s on the boat. But I don’t think he’s dying, I just knew he will be okay.
So, why do I love this show? So this show appears at my bedtime, and one episode of it is usually 30 minutes. So in the night garden works as a bedtime story for me. I personally find rewatching old tv series that I watched as a child really therapeutic. Because I feel like it helps me connect with my inner child, it gives me a sense of comfort. So I think whenever I can’t sleep I’ll try to rewatch In the night garden.
