AES56 Men and Flowers
Today is my grandma’s birthday, and I saw my mom got her flowers. And I thought to myself, why are women the only ones getting flowers? I personally love flowers and I think it’s such an amazing way to express how you care about someone regardless of their gender. I also saw a guy on TikTok who got flowers for himself because his whole life he has never got flowers. And I just saw how happy he was putting those flowers in the vase and he put them in his room.
Like, isn’t it so sad that most men only get flowers that are intentionally for them only at their funeral? That’s literally so sad. So I thought I wanted to start saving money to give my male friends and family flowers on their birthday. And I think it’s something that I can do to break the stereotype of women and flowers. The stereotype is that men don’t like flowers because it’s feminine, and that “real men” don’t like flowers.
I think it’s because I have a little brother I want to delete toxic masculinity from his life. I am trying to be a filter so that he doesn’t believe in stupid gender stereotypes. I also have 2 little cousin’s their girls and I also want to show them how they can be anything they want to be. I always defend them when a family member says something sexist towards them. Because I believe im trying to form a new generation of feminists. It takes time and effort but I think it’s worth it.
So yeah, about flowers. Everyone should receive flowers. Let’s normalize giving flowers to the men in our lives.
