AES63 Generational Trauma

Saskia Electrapenulis arsip2

I’ve been thinking about this for some time now and I always wanted to know who is responsible for all of my trauma and mental health condition. I’ve always been blaming people and I want those people who kinda traumatize me to be responsible. But now when I think of it, there’s no one that’s responsible for this because almost everyone is stuck in this loop of trauma. Let’s say my parents have some behaviours that are immature, but now I know that those behaviours were based on trauma that was passed down by my grandparents. And my grandparents have those behaviours because my great-grandparents passed those traumas down.

I think this is related to the concept that energy cannot be created or destroyed but you can change that energy. I think this trauma energy has been passed down through generations and no one has ever decided to change this energy. On the other hand, I saw how much my mom has progressed throughout the years, how her mental health and state of mind has grown. So there’s this choice to break this toxic trauma cycle.

That is why I think when someone wants to have children they have to be in a stable mental health condition and they need to sort out their own issues. Because if you are not in a good mental health condition and you want to raise a child, I think that’s going to be very toxic for you and your child. Your child has to deal with your mental health condition and you don’t even have your own things done then don’t sign yourself up to raise another human being.

Or even before you get into a relationship I think it’s so important to sort your issues, because if not it could lead to toxic or even abusive relationships. Most relationships or marriages that didn’t work, this is one of the factors. Like you put 2 traumatized people together, I don’t think it could work. It’s most likely that they’re going to hurt each other without even realizing it.

So I forgive my parents and grandparents for whatever trauma or negative energy they passed to me. Even if they are continuous about it or not. I mean when someone is traumatized they can’t really make a fully continuous and logical decision. I just like to think that me forgiving them is my part in helping them heal and to help myself heal.
