I’ve been listening to right where you left me by Taylor Swift, and as I listened to it over and over again I got the depth of the lyrics. I feel like this song understands me and I understand this song on another level. This song is about someone that experiences something that is traumatic, and they feel like they stayed at that moment. You just can’t feel time moving because of how shocking that was for you.

As someone that experiences post-traumatic stress, this song is just it. When something, someone, or just anything from your traumatic past came to your present it really hurts because it’s like you re-experiencing the thing that caused your trauma. And people will say that you’re overreacting, but they don’t really get what it feels like to be trapped in this loop of time.
Moving on is an ongoing process it isnt something that can happen overnight, and people who experience trauma are actually fighting so hard to block those echoes of the past.
